With the appearance of  the internet, the music market has suffered  many changes.
It's useful for producers to help their artists to be known internationaly but at the same time, they deplore it, because of the development of the illegal ways to get music, their lost of profit are not negligible.

Even though internet permitted to download music illegaly, music labels still use internet to promote their artists. For example, the French website, « My Major Company », asks to Internet users to subsidize the artists they like to produce their album.
Which other famous labels can you find on the internet ?


To conclude, we can say that despite the methods used by the labels to obtain music legally, people are not ready to pay for what they can have freely. Governments begin little by little to create laws (like the Hadopi laws in France) permitting to reduce the illegal downloading and then to help the labels recovering its health.
